Story, Colour & Imagination:A Family Art Adventure Inspired by Marc Chagall 🎨✨ I’m so excited to share the details of our next Rainbow Jane Story and Art session, taking place on Sunday April 19th at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

These family sessions are designed for primary school aged children and siblings aged 2–12, creating a warm and welcoming space where families can enjoy stories, art and creativity together.

We’ll begin, as always, with a story inspired by an artist. This month we’ll be reading Tell Us a Story, Papa Chagall, a beautiful introduction to the imaginative world of Marc Chagall.

Chagall is famous for his richly coloured dreamlike paintings, filled with animals, floating people and buildings that seem to defy gravity. His work invites us to use our imagination freely, to tell stories through colour and shape, and to create worlds where anything feels possible.

Inspired by his famous stained-glass artworks, we’ll be creating our own pieces on acetate sheets using acrylic paints and Sharpies. These can then be displayed on a window so the light can shine through, just like Chagall’s glowing glass, or simply hung on the wall as a colourful reminder of the day.

At the heart of these sessions is the joy of helping children build confidence, curiosity and an enjoyment of art.

There is never a right or wrong way to create here. The aim is to encourage children to explore ideas, trust their instincts and discover the pleasure of making something uniquely their own.

Adults play an important role too — your job is simply to provide encouragement, enthusiasm and gentle support where needed (and, of course, to accompany your child on any toilet breaks!).

There will be tea and coffee for the adults, squash and biscuits for the children, and plenty of time to enjoy the creative process together.

Payment is offered on an “as you feel” basis, helping to cover material costs, with any additional funds donated to Zarach.

These sessions are all about sparking creativity, nurturing confidence and helping children fall in love with art through stories and play.
