Come and join the art community! 🎨
This Saturday, 19th September, 10am–4pm, I'll be at the Meanwood Community Art Show at Meanwood Institute — and I'll be bringing plenty of Rainbow Jane creativity with me!
I'm sure there'll be lots to inspire you as you wander around the show and see the fabulous work created by local artists. There'll be paintings, sketches, photography, mosaics and ceramics on display, with some pieces available to buy too.
There'll also be refreshments available for donations, with money raised going to Meanwood C of E Primary School's playground appeal.
So once you've had a look around, grab yourself a cuppa and bring it over to the Rainbow Jane creative table on the stage.
I'll have three different arty activities for you to try. You don't need any experience and everything you need will be provided. Just bring your cuppa and your imagination, sit down, relax and enjoy creating something personal to take home with you. It's all 'pay as you feel,' and any funds above the material costs will go to the fund for Meanwood C of E, playground appeal.
🌈 Relax with Watercolours
Choose from a selection of postcards — some with uplifting messages and some Rainbow Jane designs with space to add a message of your own.
Use watercolour pencils and paints to add your colours, then discover the magic of adding a little water and watching the watercolour pencils come to life.
Sit back, relax, colour, blend and experiment. Add a little sparkle if you fancy it, and create a postcard that's completely your own.

🦋 Turn a drinks can into a beautiful butterfly brooch!
Yes, really!
Start with a butterfly shape cut from an upcycled aluminium drinks can, then transform it using Sharpies, Posca acrylic paint pens and a little glitter paint.
Rainbow Jane will help you add some beads and wire on a brooch back and... voilà!
You'll have a colourful butterfly brooch to wear and let everyone know how creative you are — or perhaps to give to someone as a rather special handmade gift.

🐟🌸 Create a colourful wooden brooch or keyring
Choose a fish or flower, pick out your favourite colours and decorate it using acrylic paint pens and Sharpies.
Add a little glitter. Maybe a sparkly stone or two. Leave it matt or give it a coat of varnish.
Then turn your miniature artwork into a brooch, or decorate both sides and make it into a keyring.
There are no rules about what your finished piece should look like — that's the joy of making something that's yours!

🎨 Everything you need is waiting for you
Three creative activities. All the materials provided. No experience necessary.
Just bring your cuppa and your imagination, sit down, relax and create something personal to take home with you.
