On Sunday 14th June, the Art Shed will be buzzing with colour, imagination, and creativity as we dive into our next Family Story & Art sessions at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
This session is all about exploring the playful, bold and wonderfully unexpected world of the artist Pablo Picasso.
Weāll begin our creative journey together by sharing a fun and engaging story called āPicassoās Trousers!ā. This light-hearted story is a brilliant way to spark curiosity about Picassoās life and art, and it opens up space for children (and grown-ups too!) to chat about what makes his work so unique. Weāll look at some of his famous paintings and explore how he wasnāt afraid to see the world differently.

Then itās out to the Art Shed, where the real magic happensā¦
Here, weāll be creating our own portraits ā you can choose to draw a self-portrait or a portrait of the grown-up with you. Inspired by Picassoās bold style and playful approach to art, weāll experiment with shapes, imagination, and expressive mark-making. Thereās no āright wayā to do it ā just plenty of room to explore, play, and let creativity flow.
These sessions are designed to be relaxed, welcoming and full of encouragement. The focus is on children enjoying the process of making art, while adults are invited to support, join in, or simply enjoy watching their childās ideas come to life. And if you feel inspired to create alongside them ā youāre very welcome to jump in too!
